Becoming a Licensed Agent for Fire Safety Equipment in Abu Dhabi

The application process for an agent license involves submitting a comprehensive set of documents, including:

1. Business License Copy: A copy of your company’s valid business license.
2. Product List: A detailed list of all fire safety equipment, machinery, and materials you intend to represent.
3. Agency Agreement: The original signed agency agreement between your company and the manufacturer or production body you’ll be representing, duly attested.
   • Agreements involving a legal representative or a local plant may have additional requirements.
4. Manufacturing Plant Details: Information about the manufacturing plant, including its licensing status if not owned by the brand you represent.
5. Ministry of Economy Registration: A valid agency registration certificate issued by the UAE Ministry of Economy.
6. Letter of Continuity: A letter from the manufacturer confirming the ongoing validity of your agency agreement upon license renewal.
7. Examination & Testing Reports: Summaries of examination and testing reports on the equipment, machinery, and materials you’ll represent, prepared by an approved manufacturer and lab.
8. Safety Certificates: Original international safety certificates (C.O.C) issued by approved bodies for the equipment, machinery, and materials you’ll represent. Sample certificates may not be sufficient for full product labeling with certification marks.
9. Conformity Certificates (if applicable): For equipment with standardized specifications in the UAE, conformity certificates issued by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology are required.
10. Technical Booklets (upon request): The Civil Defence may request original technical specification booklets for the equipment and machinery you’ll represent.
11. Equipment Samples (upon request): In some cases, the Civil Defence may require physical samples of the equipment, machinery, and materials for further examination (upon request).
12. Approved Arabic Translations: Officially translated Arabic versions of specific documents like agency agreements, testing reports, and safety certificates.
13. Warranty Letters: Separate warranty letters guaranteeing at least three years of warranty for equipment and machinery, five years for pumps, and at least one year of maintenance services. An additional letter guaranteeing spare part availability for ten years is also required.
